The Bible Fellowship is a small group which meets every Thursday at 11am in the Quiet Room. Join us to explore an aspect of the Bible or the Christian faith. You don't have to be a churchgoer to join us.
We know not everyone can make it to church on a Sunday, but there is no need to miss out on making a connection with God through Holy Communion. We share a mid-month communion service, normally on the third Wednesday of the Month at 10.30 am. Non-Methodist Church members are welcome to join us and receive the elements. Want to join but not sure if it's OK? See our Communion FAQ
We aim to offer three seasonal Quiet Days a year (Lent, Summer and Advent) where everyone is welcome. We are able to have full use of the premises and individuals attending can use the time as they wish. We offer space and quietness with opportunities to share in guided meditations and to explore scripture, silence and contemplation. Resources are also available e.g. books, writing materials, art and craft materials… Our labyrinth is set out in the sanctuary and with it comes the opportunity to walk and to pray. Walking a labyrinth has been likened to making a pilgrimage and provides a space for reflection. Our Quiet Days are generally from 10am until 3.30pm and our Minister comes to administer communion at the end of the day. Folk that attend these days appreciate setting aside time from the busyness of their everyday lives; to just be, to listen to God, to reflect and to reconnect with Him.
Never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and in a calm spirit. Saint Francis de Sales
You show me the path of life. In your presence there is fullness of joy. Psalm 16:11
Did not our hearts burn within us as he talked to us on the road… Luke 24: 32
Some meditation phrases: Be still and know that I am God; Come Lord Jesus, Come.
